Skandasana or Krishna Dhyana?
You may have heard this low side lunge posture referred to as both
Skandasana or Krishna Dhyana, perhaps other things as well!
To honor this pose many of us know and love, let`s skim the surface of each name!
Skandasana or `Pose of Skanda`
Represenatitive of the Hindu deity associated with battle and attack, Skandasana is said to embody the awareness and preparedness of a charge or surge of energy.
Krishna Dhyana or `Meditation of Krishna`
This term denotes the practice of meditation focused on Lord Krishna. Dhyana, or meditation, involves concentration and contemplation on a specific object, image, or deity.
