Emily

Emily discovered yoga as a way to reconnect to herself after years of competitive sports led to a sense of burnout and disconnection from her body. After taking her first class, she fell in love with the way yoga allowed her to not only connect deeper to herself, but also foster a stronger sense of connection rooted in community. Emily completed her 200-hour teaching training though Zion Well in Michigan, where she primarily taught Vinyasa and Yin style classes. She relocated to New York earlier this year, and upon discovering Jai, immediately felt at home in the kind, supportive community. A forever student, Emily continues to enjoy taking classes at Jai and incorporating new ideas into her offerings for students. Her classes often involve the use of metaphor, intentional messaging, and focus on alignment with both the physical body and internal sense of self.

Outside of yoga, Emily works as a therapist and loves incorporating somatic movement practices into her sessions with clients. She is still discovering new spots to check out and would love any suggestions/recommendations on local hidden treasures!
