Rachel’s yoga journey began in high school and deepened in college while studying opera performance. Connecting the breath to movement in vinyasa yoga helped Rachel direct her awareness inward and has been a guide for her throughout life’s inevitable uncertainty. As her practice expanded, Rachel craved a yogi community. Once she moved back to Albany, she attended a strong vinyasa class at JAI and knew she had come home. Finding her sangha and practicing Bhakti yoga has given Rachel a renewed sense of self-love and inner peace. This has allowed her to lead with her heart, as well as increased vulnerability and authenticity. Rachel completed her 200-hour Teacher Training at JAI in 2020. While her teaching is Hatha, Rachel enjoys practicing all types of yoga and meditation. She is honored to have the opportunity to give back to the community that holds a special place in her heart.
